HID Studio — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 October 2026

HID Studio turns your Android phone into a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, and plays macros and gestures through it. It has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. It has no server: the app talks to the computer you connect it to, over Bluetooth, and to Google Play, only to sell and check HID Studio Pro. This policy describes everything it touches.

What the app collects

Nothing is collected by us. There is no server belonging to HID Studio, no user account, and no identifier assigned to you or your device. We cannot see who uses the app, what you type, what you connect to, or what your macros do.

Bluetooth

The app registers your phone as a standard Bluetooth input device — the same kind of device as a wireless mouse or keyboard. Pointer movements, clicks, scrolling and key presses, including any text you type to send and everything a macro plays, go over Bluetooth directly to the computer or TV you connected, and nowhere else.

Motion sensors

While you have the air-mouse switched on, the app reads the phone's motion sensors to move the pointer. The readings are used as they arrive and are not stored or sent anywhere except, as pointer movement, to the connected computer.

Purchases

HID Studio Pro is a one-time purchase through Google Play. Google processes the payment under Google's privacy policy; we never see your payment details, your name or your email address.

To know whether Pro is owned, the app asks Google Play, through the Play Store app on your phone, what your Google account has bought: when you buy, when you restore, and each time the app starts, so that Pro comes back after a reinstall and goes away after a refund. Google Play answers with a record of the purchase and its signature, which the app checks on your phone. The app keeps only whether Pro is owned. This is the only communication the app has with anything other than your connected computer.

What is stored, and where

Everything the app remembers is stored only on your phone, in the app's private storage: your macros and recorded gestures (including any text you put in a macro), your settings, the last playback settings you used, the last screen you had open, the last connected device, your phone's own Bluetooth name while the app has it renamed, and whether Pro is owned.

If backup is switched on for your phone, Android may include your macros, gestures and settings in your phone's backup to your Google account, as it does for other apps; that is controlled in your phone's backup settings. Whether Pro is owned is never included in a backup: it always comes from Google Play.

Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored on the phone. Macros and gestures can also be deleted one by one in the app at any time.

Notifications

While the app is connected to a computer or plays a macro, Android shows a notification for it, with a Stop button. When a free run reaches its time limit, a notification says so. These are produced on your phone; nothing is sent from anywhere else.

Permissions the app may request

Nearby devices and notifications can be refused, and withdrawn later in your phone's settings; without Bluetooth the app cannot connect to a computer.

Children

HID Studio is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
